David Alcaide is Professor of Statistics and Operations Research at the University of La Laguna, Tenerife, Spain. He obtained his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Mathematics from University of La Laguna. He also received a Ph.D. in Operations Research from University of La Laguna, and a Ph.D. in System Engineering from University of Bologna, Italy. He has published research articles in several Operations Research journals. His current research interest is in Production Planning, Scheduling Theory and Applications, and Network Optimization Problems.

Timon C. Du received his BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from the National Chung-Hsing University, Taiwan, in 1989. He obtained his Master’s and Ph.D. degrees in Industrial Engineering from the Arizona State University. Currently he is Professor at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Director of MSc in E-Business Management Program, and President of the International Consortium for Electronic Business (ICEB). His research interests are in e-business, data mining, collaborative commerce, and semantics webs.

Eldon Y. Li is University Chair Professor in the College of Commerce at National Chengchi University, Taiwan. He was the Professor and Dean of College of Informatics at Yuan Ze University, Taiwan. He is on leave from the Orfalea College of Business, California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, California, USA. He was the Founding Director of the Graduate Institute of Information Management at the National Chung Cheng University, the President of the Western Decision Sciences Institute (WDSI), and the Founding Executive Director of the International Consortium for Electronic Business (ICEB). He holds M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Texas Tech University. He has published over 100 papers in the areas of human factors in information technology (IT), strategic IT planning, software engineering, quality assurance, information management, and business management. He is the Founding Editor for the International Journal of Electronic Business, the International Journal of Information Policy and Law, the International Journal of Information and Computer Security, the International Journal of Internet and Enterprise Management, and the International Journal of Internet Marketing and Advertising.

Guan-Yuan Lian received both his BS and MS degrees in Industrial Engineering from Chung Yuan Christian University in 1998 and 2000, respectively. Mr. Lian is currently working in industry. His research interests include information technology, database management, and electronic commerce.

Hsin Rau is Associate Professor of the Department of Industrial Engineering in Chung Yuan Christian University (CYCU), Taiwan, Republic of China. He received his BS in Mechanical Engineering from National Taiwan University, M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, USA, and both M.E. and Ph.D. in Manufacturing Engineering from UCLA, USA. His research interests are in the areas of e-business, machine vision, automated manufacturing systems, and supply chain and global logistics management. He is currently the director of office of international programs and in charge of the material handling and storage laboratory at CYCU. He can be reached at hsinrau@cycu.edu.tw.

Andrés Rodríguez-González received his B.S. and M.S. in Mathematics from the University of La Laguna, Tenerife, Spain. Since 1996 he is working as Assistant Professor in Statistics and Operations Research at the University of La Laguna. At present, he is also working at the Statistics Institute of the Canary Islands, Spain. He has published some research articles in Operations Research journals. His main research interests focus on Stochastic Scheduling and Optimization Problems.

Joaquín Sicilia is Professor of Statistics and Operations Research at the University of La Laguna, Tenerife, Spain. He received a B.S. in Mathematics from Complutense University of Madrid, a M.S. in Mathematics and a Ph.D. in Operations Research from University of La Laguna. He has published several articles in different Operations Research journals (Omega, EJOR, JORS, Computers and Operations Research, Journal Optimization Theory and Applications, Annals of Operations Research, International Journal of Production Economics, Computer and Industrial Engineering, etc.). His current research interest is in Inventory Control, Production Planning, Scheduling Theory, and Location Theory.

Inneke Van Nieuwenhuyse is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Business and Commercial Engineering at the European University College Brussels (Belgium), where she teaches Operations Research, Management Science and Discrete-event Simulation courses. She holds M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Applied Economics-Commercial Engineering from the University of Antwerp (Belgium). Her research interests are in operations management, design and analysis of stochastic manufacturing, and supply chain systems.

Nico Vandaele holds a degree Commercial Engineering and a Ph.D. from the KULeuven. He is Full Professor Operations Management at the Universities of Antwerp and Leuven, where he teaches Supply Chain Management, Production Management, Project Management, and Performance Analysis of Manufacturing Systems. Research interests in planning systems, factory physics and traffic modeling. He published in leading journals like IIE Transactions, Management Science, Transportation Research, European Journal of Operational Research, Interfaces among others. He is active in several executive training programs and is consultant for many companies, like In!bev, Atlas Copco, IBM, Baxter, Johnson and Johnson.
