Electrically Conducting Polymer Composite Monofilaments with a Blended Filler

  • Published:
Fibre Chemistry Aims and scope

Electrically conducting composite monofilaments were obtained under laboratory conditions using a twin-screw microextruder. A mixture of carbon particles of different shapes, i.e., spherical and anisometric, was used as the filler. The effects of the filler composition and degree of orientational drawing on the electrical conductance and deformation−strength properties of the monofilaments were studied. The stability of the electrically conducting monofilaments to the effects of UV radiation and cyclic heating was investigated.
