Effect of a Volatile Organic Compound on the Conformation of a Polyampholyte Based on Poly(Acrylic Acid) and Ethylenediamine

  • Published:
Fibre Chemistry Aims and scope

The effect of EtOH as a dehydrating agent for salting out on the conformation of a polyampholyte based on poly(acrylic acid) and an aliphatic diamine was studied. The polyampholyte macromolecule began to coil and transform into a globular conformation with an EtOH content of 15 vol% in the solution. The polyampholyte segregated into a separate phase with an EtOH content of 90 vol% in the solution.
