Flame-Retardant Effectiveness of Freshly Spun Polyacrylonitrile Fiber

Modification of freshly spun polyacrylonitrile fibers with flame retardants was shown to be effective. The flame-retardant composition was found to initiate cyclization in the fiber during pyrolysis and combustion. Material with better flame-retardant properties than modified conditioned fiber was produced.
