Study of the Rheological Characteristics of Solutions of Silk Fibroin in 1-Butyl-3-Methylimidazolium Acetate and Films Based on Them

  • Published:
Fibre Chemistry Aims and scope

The rheological characteristics of dilute solutions of silk fibroin in 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium acetate were studied. It was found that the characteristic viscosity depends on the conditions under which the solutions were prepared. Films of silk fibroin were obtained from the solutions. Their structural, mechanical, and thermal characteristics were determined.
