Thermochemical Transformations of Polyacrylonitrile Nanofibers Prepared by Needleless Electrospinning

Thermochemical transformations at high temperatures of nanofibrous material prepared by needleless electrospinning of polyacrylonitrile were investigated. It was found that the fiber geometric dimensions affected the kinetics and enthalpy of polyacrylonitrile cyclization by shifting the initial temperature of thermal release to lower temperatures and decreasing the size of the exotherm for nanofibrous material prepared by electrospinning as compared with micron-sized polyacrylonitrile fiber.
