The effects of the type of filler and mechanical treatment in a rotary pulsation apparatus of its suspension in an HOAc solution of chitosan on the structure and properties of filled chitosan films formed from the suspensions were studied. It was found that polymer structural changes occurring during chitosan filling and the film characteristics associated with them were due to competition between the reactions of the acid and functional groups on the filler surface with chitosan amines.
