The effects of carbon nanotubes (CNT) and CNT-compatibilizer additives on the flow characteristics of melts of polypropylene—copolyamide (PP—CPA) mixtures were studied. It was shown that the elasticity of the melts and the longitudinal deformation increased in the nano-filled mixtures. It was found that combining CNT with a compatibilizer improved PP fiber formation in a CPA matrix by decreasing the surface tension at the interface of the components. This stabilized the PP liquid streams. Nano-filled PP microfibers with increased specific surface area and hygroscopicity were obtained.
