We have studied the effect of tension on the original components during twisting on the strength of composite sewing threads. We observed that by varying the tension on the original components, we can control the strength parameters of the products. We established that the determining factor is the ratio of the rates of stress relaxation/equalization in the individual rusar and arselon yarns and accumulation of damage in them. Using this method offers an opportunity to improve the strength characteristics of sewing threads as a result of better utilization of the strength of the original components.
