Correlation between wetting and deterging abilities in mixed surfactant solutions

The results of determination of the wetting ability of textile materials and deterging ability of mixed solutions of surfactants are compared. It is established that in mixed surfactant solutions, a correlation is observed between wetting and deterging abilities regardless of the nature of the components contained in the solutions. It is recommended that the maximum rise (ascent) of the solution in a vertical fabric (cloth) specimen be used for determining the deterging ability of detergent compositions.
