Structure and properties of chitosan films and chitosan-containing fibres spun from acetic acid, alcohol-containing polymer solutions

Addition of ethanol to acetic acid spinning solutions for high-molecular-weight chitosan significantly accelerates hardening of the films obtained and the chitosan shells on the fibres, increases the homogeneity, and has almost no effect on their deformation-strength properties.
