Fibre Chemistry Aims and scope

Equations are reported for calculating the change in the heat capacity in melting and glass transition of polymers. At high pressure, the conformational contribution to the change in the heat capacity of the polymers are almost two times higher in the case of the glass transition than the intermolecular contribution, while the conformational contribution to the change in the heat capacity in melting is more than two times smaller than the intermolecular contribution. The conformational contribution to the change in the heat capacity in the glass transition and melting of polymers changes little with an increase in the pressure.
