Carbon fibre porous conducting substrates for hydrogen energetics

  • Fibre Composite Materials
  • Published:
Fibre Chemistry Aims and scope

The technical data and process aspects of manufacturing porous conducting substrates used as gas-diffusion substrates (GDS) for fuel cells with proton-exchange membranes are examined. It was shown that modern GDS are systems consisting of water-repellent carbon-fibre substrates with the structure of paper or fabric with an applied microporous layer. The mechanisms and characteristics of creating (designing) gasdiffusion substrates from carbon fibres are analyzed.
