Digital Leadership and Innovative Work Behavior in IT Sector: The Mediating Role of Digital Entrepreneurial Orientation and Digital Organizational Culture

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the influence of digital leadership on innovative work behavior, with a focus on exploring the mediating effect of digital entrepreneurial orientation and digital organizational culture in the context of the increasing significance of workplace innovation and digitalization in the modern era. A survey was conducted to gather data from 357 participants working in the IT industry of Pakistan. The structured equation modeling technique was employed to analyze the conceptual framework. The analysis of the data was performed using Smart PLS4 software. Results of the analysis revealed: a) Digital leadership has a significant influence on innovative work. b) The relationship between digital leadership and Innovative work behaviors mediated significantly by digital entrepreneurial orientation and digital organizational culture. This research offers valuable insight and innovative perspectives for managers and directors of firms operating in developing and emerging economies. It guides how they can enhance the Innovative work behavior of their employees through effective leadership practices, organizational culture, and entrepreneurial orientation. This study contributes to leadership research by examining the impact of digital leadership on innovative work, addressing gaps in existing literature, and advancing our understanding of how digital leadership, directly and indirectly, promotes innovative work behavior.
