Abstract
This study investigates the impact of education informatization construction on green innovation in China from 1980 to 2020. The research aims to contribute to the understanding of how advancements in the educational sector can drive eco-friendly innovations by examining the relationship between education technology integration and the generation of green patents. The empirical analysis employs panel data techniques and a comprehensive set of control variables, including SMEs number, ICT development, job creation, investment by the private sector, and financial market size. The estimation results reveal significant positive effects of expenditure on smart education, ICT development, SMEs number, private sector investment, and financial market size on green patent applications in China. These findings underscore the importance of investing in education technology, fostering ICT development, promoting SMEs growth, attracting private sector investment, and strengthening the financial market to drive green innovation and sustainability efforts.
