Decentering wage labor as a new class politics

Abstract

This commentary on María Inéz Fernández Álvarez’s analysis of Argentina’s Confederation of Workers of the Popular Economy (CTEP) considers how the CTEP is a critique of precarious work that nonetheless refuses to reaffirm wage labor. It raises questions about the new politics of the CTEP, specifically its response to the work-citizenship nexus and its embrace of the heterogeneous category of the “popular economy.”
