A new dimeric abietane-type diterpenoid, chamaeobtusaric (1), was isolated from the acetone extract of the trunk of Chamaecyparis obtusa var. formosana. The structure was established by spectroscopic analyses including 1D and 2D NMR (1H, 13C, COSY, HSQC, HMBC, and NOESY) and HR-EI-MS and comparison with the data of known analogues.
