Atractin A (1), a new sesquiterpenoid-geranylbenzofuran conjugate, was isolated and identified from the rhizomes of Atractylodes macrocephala. Its structure was elucidated by spectroscopic data. The cytotoxicity evaluation indicated that atractin A showed moderate cytotoxic activity against A549 cell line with an IC50 value of 35.80 ± 2.35 μM.
