Enantiomeric Phenylpropanoids from Uncaria rhynchophylla

  • Published:
Chemistry of Natural Compounds Aims and scope

Pairs of enantiomeric phenylpropanoid glycosides and their aglycones, (8R)-stroside A (1), (8S)-stroside A (2), (8R)-evofolin B (3), and (8S)-evofolin B (4), were isolated from the hook-bearing stems of Uncaria rhynchophylla (Miq.) Miq. ex Havil. Among of these compounds, (8R)-stroside A (1) was a new one, and other known compounds were isolated from the genus Uncaria for the first time. The structure of the new compound was elucidated by extensive analysis of MS, 1D and 2D NMR, and ECD data.
