Fatty-Acid Composition and Biological Activity of Lipids from Plantago ovata Seeds

The chemical composition of fatty acids in lipids from Plantago ovata Forssk. seeds was studied. The yield of lipids was 6.12%. The lipids consisted mainly of linoleic (41.20%) and 9-octadecenoic acid (26.56%). The antioxidant and antimicrobial activities of the obtained lipids were assessed for the first time.
