Chemical Constituents of the Aerial Part of Zygophyllum gaetulum

  • Published:
Chemistry of Natural Compounds Aims and scope

A new megastigman sulfate (1) was isolated from the aerial part of Zygophyllum gaetulum. The structure of 1 was elucidated as (E)-3-sulfooxymegastigm-7-en-9-one by analysis of spectroscopic data. In addition, 22 known compounds were isolated. Triterpenoid saponins 3, 4, 5, 7, 9, 12, and 13, and compounds 17–23 were isolated from Z. gaetulum for the first time.
