A New Phenanthrene Derivative with α-Glucosidase Inhibitory Activity from Pleione maculata

  • Published:
Chemistry of Natural Compounds Aims and scope

A new phenanthrene, 2,3,7-trihydroxy-4,8-dimethoxyphenanthrene (1), was isolated from Pleione maculata. Its structure was determined on the basis of NMR (1D and 2D) and HR-ESI-MS data. The new compound was also evaluated for its α-glucosidase inhibitory activity. Compared with the positive control, the new compound even slightly exceeded the effect of acarbose.
