Two new diphenylethanes, namely 1-(3-hydroxyphenyl)-2-(5-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)ethane (1) and 1-(3-hydroxyphenyl)-2-(3,5-dihydroxyphenyl)ethane (2), were isolated from Artemisia mongolica (Fisch. ex Besser) Fisch. ex Nakai. The structures of 1 and 2 were elucidated by spectroscopic methods, including UV, IR, HR-ESI-MS, and extensive 1D and 2D NMR techniques.
