Three New 3,4-Seco-Cycloartane Triterpenes from Leaves and Twigs of Gardenia sootepensis

  • Published:
Chemistry of Natural Compounds Aims and scope

Two new 3,4-seco-cycloartane triterpenes, 3,4-seco-cycloart-26,29-diformyl-24-en-4(28)-epoxymethyl-3-carboxylate (1) and 3,4-seco-cycloart-4(28),24-dien-26-hydroxymethyl-3-carboxylate (3), and a novel nor-3,4-seco-cycloartane triterpene, nor-3,4-seco-cycloart-26-formyl-24-en-4-oxomethyl-3-carboxylate (2), were isolated from the methanolic extract of the leaves and twigs of Gardenia sootepensis. The structures of these new compounds were elucidated on the basis of 1D and 2D NMR experiments and HR-MS data.
