Extracts of Peucedanum ruthenicum roots contained the known peucedanin-type furocoumarins isoimperatorin, peucedanin, and ostruthin in addition to two new ones, peuceruthen and peuceruthenin. The structures of the new furocoumarins were elucidated by comparing their PMR spectra with those of peucedanin and using 13C NMR and 13C DEPT 135 NMR spectra.
