Abstract
An over view of existing and planned radioactive ion beam facilities world wide is given. Two types of production methods are distinguished: projectile fragmentation and the on-line isotope separator (ISOL) method. Advanced radioactive beam facilities will allow the production and study of many new nuclei with presently unknown properties.
