Analyzing Operation Efficiency of a City Transportation System by the U-Statistics Methods. I. Interactive Evaluation of Continuous Monitoring Results

  • Published:
Cybernetics and Systems Analysis Aims and scope

Abstract

The method of U-statistics is used to analyze the operation efficiency of a large city transportation system as a complex network system with partially ordered traffic flows. Based on the continuous monitoring results of the ordered flow part equipped with GPS-trackers, namely, that of the public transportation, methods of interactive, forecasting, and aggregated analysis of the state and operation process of transportation system components of various hierarchy levels have been developed. The proposed technique can be easily automated and used for operational analysis and forecasting of traffic situation development on city highways and for creating efficient tools to optimize the transportation system operation.
