Abstract
A special case of branching processes with immigrants at random instants of time is considered. The process parameters are close to critical ones. A sequence of such processes normalized in a certain way is proved to converge to a diffusion process in uniform topology. As a consequence, the limiting behavior of integral functionals is studied.
