Control of Temperature of Air in a Container by a System of Frozen Capsules

  • Published:
Chemical and Petroleum Engineering Aims and scope

The article presents the results of theoretical and experimental studies of air cooling by a system of capsules frozen to cryoscopic temperature (cold accumulators) in a heat-insulated container under conditions of intense convective cold transfer from the cold source to the treated air. The adequacy of the quantitative analysis of the heat transfer process to experimental observations has been established using Gorbatov’s geometric and physicocmathematical modeling data. The obtained data can be used for designing and calculating cooling equipment based on use of cold accumulators.
