Combined Method of Thermoplastic Turning with Advanced Workpiece Evacuation

  • Published:
Chemical and Petroleum Engineering Aims and scope

The paper presents experimental findings on thermoplastic turning with the use of advanced evacuation of a workpiece surface. The application of advanced evacuation to the outer surface of a workpiece during the turning of Capron and Teflon materials is substantiated. A new method for turning thermoplastic workpieces has been developed and patented. It is experimentally demonstrated that turning thermoplastics with advanced evacuation of the workpiece surface allows for a better-machined workpiece surface as compared with conventional turning methods.
