Gland Seals with Soft Gasket with Trapezoidal Cross-Section

The article discusses the construction of glands seals provided with a soft trapezoid-shaped gasket. Such a construction assures a lengthwise uniform load on the gasket with minimal (based on air-tightness of the seal) magnitude of the load. A calculation of the basic parameters of the seal is presented.
