Unevenness of flow distribution in plate-fin heat exchanger batteries

  • Published:
Chemical and Petroleum Engineering Aims and scope

Problems of uneven flow distribution in plate-fin heat exchanger batteries operating in air separation and natural gas liquefaction plants are discussed. It is shown that uneven flow distribution in the battery between individual apparatuses reduces the integral characteristics of the entire battery markedly. A concept is proposed for ensuring a fixed degree of flow unevenness in batteries of such heat exchangers.
