Chemical and Petroleum Engineering Aims and scope

A procedure based on the effective diameter proposed by the author is presented for analysis of vibration indicators of heat-exchange bimetallic finned tubes (BFT) in a forced transverse flow of air. It is indicated that in characteristic operating regimes, tube bundles formed from BFT have a significant reserve of vibration reliability, and there is no danger of their failure owing to eddy separation and formation of an aerodynamic wake beyond the tubes.
