The innovative project Magistral is to be terminated in 2011. The development, certification, and mastering of the production of low-carbon steels of strength classes to Kh100 has been completed for pipes of arterial lines. A procedure and quality criteria are developed, and full-scale life tests of an experimental batch of tubes performed on a bench. The necessity of these tests is demonstrated experimentally. Correspondence of the steels developed to modern requirements for strength characteristics is verified.
