Use of the finite-element method for temperature and strength analyses of hydrocracking reactors is described for the purpose of defining the optimal dimensions of the hot cell. Use of the software package ANSYS 12.0 is examined for design of a parametric finite-element model of the reactor, which includes basic design elements, and execution of required analyses. Criteria are established for evaluation of the results obtained.
