Chemical and Petroleum Engineering Aims and scope

An analysis has been made of the design of a single-thread pump whose multi-thread operating members have a kinematic ratio i = 3:4. The pump has a pressure of 40 bar. Its characteristics in the rotation speed range n = 120–220 rpm and delivery range Q = 10–23 m3/h are given. It can be employed as a multiphase pump. In tests with water−air mixture at n = 120 rpm, the maximum gas content in the mixture α = 87% at a pressure rise degree ε = 7. Application of this pump in semisubmersible version for liquid pumping from tanks is promising. The high leak-tightness of the operating units of the pump is noted.
