Petrochemical reactor designing based on mathematical model is discussed. Investigation, as applies to mixing reactor in high-pressure polyethylene production, has been conducted. The mathematical model of the reactor and the results of investigation of the influence of variation of design parameters (diameter and height) of the reactor on the stability region in steady reactor operation regime are given. Based on these investigations, recommendations are offered for selection of reactor geometry. Data supporting occurrence of hysteresis in static reactor operation regime are reported.
