A construction is proposed for an electrogasdynamic expansion generator with a new electrode system making it possible to create beside an emitter with a corona discharge a relatively large volume of charges, and as a consequence considerable convective current strength, that makes it possible to develop in one generator expansion stage relatively considerable power (up to several kilowatts). This construction provide a solution to the problem of determining the convective current strength and displacement current strength, that arises around the surface of the corona electrode with a pulsed voltage in relation to the magnitude and shape of the applied voltage, electrode system construction, working medium parameters and flow rate.
