Heat-transfer rate in a tube with a fluidized bed

  • Published:
Chemical and Petroleum Engineering Aims and scope

The heat-transfer rate in a fluidized bed as applies to heat exchangers with a tubular working section is investigated. A schematic diagram of an experimental device is presented. Spherical particles (steel and polyvinyl-chloride balls, lead shot, and polydisperse gravel) are used as model solid phases. Curves showing the dependence of the coefficient of heat transfer on the velocity of the liquefying flow are obtained.
