Chemical and Petroleum Engineering Aims and scope

Abstract

Block schematics of fractionating towers at primary-distillation refineries are examined. Causes of unsatisfactory tower performance are analyzed.

A program is developed for modernization of internal contact devices in the towers. It is proposed to use regular packings in lieu of vacuum-tower trays. All projected indicators were attained after modernization of the tower equipment.
