Dear Reader,

Concerns the reviewers in 2019

In 2019, a total number of 710 reviewers participated in the review process, which is higher than in the year before. We are really very thankful for all the hard work that the reviewers put into the review process. There is an enormous time pressure on each of our reviewers to do this work in addition to their regular research and clinical activities. There were 65 reviewers who did more than four reviews, and even up to 10 reviews over the whole year, which is really much appreciated. This year we are unable to list the individual names of reviewers due to the implementation of GDPR, though our gratitude remains sincere.

In light of GDPR, we encourage our reviewers to find an alternative form of recognition in Publons. Publons is a service partnered with the journal that allows reviewers to maintain and showcase an up-to-date, real-time record of review contributions and receive certification. More details on the service can be found here: https://springernature.com/gp/reviewers/publons.

I wish you much pleasure in reading the International Journal of Cardiovascular Imaging in 2020 and each year following, and encourage you to submit your best manuscripts to our Journal. We see an increasing number of submissions worldwide while our rejection rate remains at about 70%, which means that we can only accept the best 30%.

Thank you so much, also on behalf of our Associate and Adjunct Editors, our Editorial Board, and the Editorial staff,

Johan H.C. Reiber, PhD

Editor-in-Chief
