The article describes an analytical method for computing the process of fractionation of multicomponent mixtures under total reflux conditions, which is based on specified separation products quality requirements. The described method can be applied for both discrete and continuous mixtures. An example of computation by the proposed method is given and the results are compared with the results of plate-by-plate calculation of the fractionation column operation conditions in the software package for technological simulation. Analysis of the obtained data showed that the compositions of the distillate and the residue meet the specified requirements in terms of the total content of contaminants, and the developed method shows good compliance of the key parameters of the process with the results of modern programs for technological computations and can be recommended for practical application.
