Chemistry and Technology of Fuels and Oils Aims and scope

This paper presents the results of research for determining the optimal conditions for simultaneous dearomatization and hydrodewaxing reactions to evaluate large-scale production of low-viscosity hydrocarbon bases for drilling fluids in the dewaxing section of an LCh-24/7 unit without recycle. The Influence of one of the key factors, namely, temperature, on the course of the reaction was studied. This research was conducted using a platinum-containing dewaxing catalyst in a laboratory unit for the study of hydorprocesses. It was found that the key factor is 280°С at which hydrodewaxing reactions begin to prevail over dearomatization reactions. The research made it possible to reduce the content of aromatic compounds in diesel fuel to the 7% level, which is the basis for further research to determine the influence of other parameters, such as pressure and volume feed rate.
