We demonstrate that a paraffin emulsion can be used as a waterproofing agent for porous silicate materials. We establish that the water-repellant properties of the indicated material are affected both by the paraffin and by the oil contained in the paraffin. We study the effect of the oil content in the paraffin on the waterproofing properties of the emulsion and the water-repellant properties of the porous silicate material.
