Simple and reliable methods are proposed for determining methanol in stable gas condensate, wide light hydrocarbon fractions, and liquefied hydrocarbon gases. High sensitivity of the methods (methanol detection range about 1 × 10−4 mass %) is attained by concentration of the methanol from the analysis specimens with water or aqueous salt solution in combination with flame-ionization detection. The risk of overlapping of chromatographic peaks of methanol and hydrocarbon matrix of the specimens is eliminated completely.
