A Prototype of a Myoelectric Upper-Limb Prosthesis Constructed Using Additive Technologies

A low-cost bionic hand prosthesis with myoelectric control is presented. The prosthesis was made from plastic by 3D printing. An algorithm for identification of muscle activity and recognition of gestures was used to provide control of the prosthesis. An Arduino nano microcontroller was used to process electromyographic signals and control the prosthesis in real time.
