A Technique for Recording and Processing Respiratory Signals for Telemedicine Systems

  • Published:
Biomedical Engineering Aims and scope

A technique for recording and digital processing of respiratory signals is considered. The technique can be used in telemedicine systems for monitoring of respiration parameters. The proposed technique of digital processing is based on frequency bandpass filtering and adaptive cancellation of motion artifacts. A flow diagram of the measuring channel and an experimental layout of a wearable respiratory monitor based on impedance plethysmography have been developed. The digital processing technique has been tested using the experimental layout of the wearable respiratory monitor.
