A method for the routine monitoring of digital X-ray diagnostic systems is presented, with assessment of the performance of the X-ray unit and the digital detector by medical staff before the patient arrives. The operability (inoperability) of one part or another is determined from results obtained by indirect assessment of anode voltage, the quantity of electricity, and the gain and the level of internal noise in the X-ray receiver. The time required for testing is generally no more than 5 min.
