An algorithm for automatic detection of atrial flutter and atrial fibrillation is presented. The algorithm is based on the analysis of the intervals between R waves (RR intervals), percentage of Р wave duration related to total signal (SP), as well as the analysis of the diagram of correlation factors used to detect Р waves. The parameters listed above were applied in different combinations to reveal atrial flutter (AFL) and atrial fibrillation (AF) depending on the heart rate (HR). It was found that in case of HR higher than 120 bpm, it is necessary to analyze the duration of the RR intervals and parameter SP. If HR is lower than 120 bpm, it is necessary to compare HR with the frequency of the subsequent Р waves (APR). It was found that the boundary value of SP for AF is 25%.
