A method for detection of phase contrast X-ray images is described. The mechanism of detection of phase-contrast X-ray images is suggested and optimum conditions for detection of the described effect are considered. Advantages of microfocal sources for implementation of the method are described. Examples of phase-contrast X-ray images are discussed and areas of their application are shown.
